Letter from the Principal

Here at ASH, our mission is to inspire all students to express themselves through art, music and theater classes. Students are taught using an innovative curriculum that incorporates the arts and humanities into daily teaching and learning activities.

ASH is one of four magnet programs in the City School District of Albany, and in addition to our regular elementary curriculum, ASH offers supplementary art, theatre, science and computer classes to our students.

Students participate in monthly assemblies and field trips that support our humanities theme. Our students benefit from a close partnership with Siena College and frequent presentations from community arts organizations including Albany Symphony, Saratoga Opera and the Albany Institute of History & Art and more.

Through our humanities-based approach, we strive to educate all students to be lifelong learners, capable decision-makers and positive contributors to their community.
